About me – Christina Ferraz

Hi, my name is Christina Ferraz, AKA The PR Professor.

I am a high-performance, flexible communication strategist with 20 years of experience managing a multicultural workforce to ensure objectives are met on time and within budget for public relations and marketing. As a former journalist and political specialist, I have a unique skill set as a PR practitioner.

I’m adept in leading integrated campaigns from inception to completion, identifying areas for improvement, managing budgets, and recommending new strategies to meet and exceed goals with a focus on cultural competency and inclusive discourse.

Additionally, I secure thought leadership opportunities for subject matter experts and support executives with plans of action for crisis communication. I am best known for connecting global brands with local non-profit organizations and high-profile public figures to tell stories that directly impact the community. I take a diverse and inclusive approach to building creative campaigns that honor cultural values and traditions with dignity.

After matriculating with honors from Temple University with a Master of Science in Communication Management and being awarded scholarships to present research at the Popular Culture Association, I grew my business, Thirty6five, with networks in New York City, Philadelphia, and Houston working with non-profit organizations, small businesses, and public figures. In 2023, I rebranded to The PR Professor.

I’ve been featured in Discovering Answers: Research Methods in Public Relations in 2023, the Hispanic Public Relations Association awarded me Best Non-Profit Campaign for my work with Houston Ballet in 2022, and PRNEWS recognized my career’s work, awarding me Honorable Mention for the Pioneer Award in the CSR & Diversity Awards 2021. I frequently speak on communications and culture for the media, and CBS, The Washington Post, USA Today, NPR, CNN, Houston Chronicle, and PR News have quoted me.

I’ve also spoken on panels for the Hispanic Public Relations Association and Public Relations Society of America to discuss the role of public relations in corporate social responsibility, marketing, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

I am an adjunct professor teaching PR strategy to junior PR practitioners and small business owners in my free time. I am a SQUAD, Forbes BLK member, and a recognized community leader with Leadership Houston.
